How the trails work
Each node on the trail map is a brief review of a book I've read. The trails between the nodes represent connections so that you can see how the books connect to each other in my mind and so that you might get ideas for where to look next if you want to find books similar to one on the list. The trails come in three colors representing different types of connections.
🟠 The Linear Trail (Orange) - This trail connects books that are part of the same series. I generally try to connect them in whatever is "reading order" in my mind, but there's some flexibility when publication order and chronological order don't line up. I will sometimes also link up books on this trail that aren't part of the same series but that are by the same author if the previous series is finished.
🔴 The Theme Trail (Red) - This trail connects books with similar vibes but that aren't part of the same series. If you enjoy a book's writing style, themes, and atmosphere, this path can help you find other books that I think evoke similar feelings.
🟣 The Wanderer Trail (Purple) - This trail connects books that are somehow related to each other in my mind. This can be for any reason, from me reading them over the same weekend to me associating them with the same person I know in real life. The connections may seem less meaningful to the random visitor, but may give some small insight into how I view these books.
